About SakerWeb

Websites for small businesses that are quick to load, hard to break and easy to change.

Why “Saker”?

SakerWeb is named after the saker falcon, a large falcon of the open grasslands from eastern Europe to Central Asia, and one of the fastest birds in the world. It doesn’t wait for its prey to come to it: it hunts on speed, in a fast, low chase or a steep dive from height.

Speed is the point of SakerWeb too. Your pages are ready before anyone asks for them, with no database to look things up in and photos sized for the screen they’re shown on, so they arrive quickly, even on a phone.

The bird in our logo is a saker.

Why we built it

Most small business websites run on WordPress or a site builder: a database, a theme and a stack of plugins, all needing to be kept up to date. Yet most of these sites change only now and then, and their owners would rather not think about any of it.

SakerWeb turns such a site into plain pages that are fast to load and have little to go wrong, and gives you an assistant that makes changes when you ask.

What we care about

Your words stay yours

When we move a site, every word and image of each old page is checked against the new one. We never publish reworded copy you didn’t ask for.

No made-up facts

The assistant may not add a phone number, email address, price, testimonial or link that you didn’t give it. It asks instead.

Your visitors’ privacy

No font services, no outside spam filter or captcha, and code that tracks visitors runs only after they accept it.

Nothing lost by mistake

Every change is recorded with who made it, and anything not yet published can be undone.

We’re in beta

We’re working with a small number of businesses and agencies, moving their sites across and improving the console as we go. If you’d like to take part, we’d like to hear from you.
