Moving from WordPress

We read your site through WordPress’s own public interface and bring across:

  • pages, and blog posts with their categories
  • images and documents, at their old addresses
  • the main menu, footer links, social links, logo, favicon and brand colours
  • embedded videos and maps, FAQs and accordions, and links to places on a page
  • contact forms
  • WooCommerce products and their categories, as a catalogue: each product has an Enquire button, with no cart or checkout

Each page is laid out in the theme’s sections, and every page keeps its address. Other kinds of form (search, newsletter sign-up, log-in, booking) aren’t moved; we list where they were, so they can be added back.

Moving from Wix and other builders

Sites made with Wix and other website builders, or written in plain HTML, are read page by page by following the links from the home page, up to 200 pages. Wix photos come across at full quality, not the blurred copies Wix shows while a page loads.

Sites built by JavaScript in the browser, as some app-style builders make them, can’t be read.

A new website from a description

No website yet? Tell us about the business: what it does, its services, where it works and how to reach it. The AI writes a first version of the site from that: a Home, About, Services and Contact page, and a blog if you’d like one.

It may only use what you told it: a page with a number, email address or link you didn’t give is rejected. There are no stock photos either. Add your own, then adjust the pages in the console.

With every site

Four themes

Clarity, Harbour, Studio and Meadow, with your own colours, logo and header. Switch at any time and every page still looks right.

Fast images

Photos are converted to WebP at the width they appear, and at double it for sharp screens. Crop any photo on the page without changing your original.

A contact form

Messages are kept in the console and emailed to you, with spam held back, and no captcha or outside service.

Search engines

One main heading on every page, a description and title of its own, a sitemap, and pages you can keep out of search results.

Your visitors’ privacy

The fonts are part of the site, so no visitor data goes to Google or another font service. If you add analytics, a cookie banner gives Accept and Reject equal weight.

A blog

Posts with categories and featured images, and a section showing the latest posts on any page.

The SakerWeb console

Each page opens beside a preview. Ask the assistant for a change, or name another page to borrow from: one of yours, or another website’s layout and wording (never its photos).

Or edit it by hand: every heading, text, button and image of the page is in a form. Click any part of the preview to go straight to it.

Nothing lost by mistake

Every change is saved as one unpublished change, with who made it and when.

Undo any of them, not just the latest, and the changes made after it stay.

For agencies and resellers

Look after your customers’ websites with SakerWeb:

  • move their sites across, or create new ones, yourself
  • give each customer a login to only the sites you choose, where they can make changes just as you can
  • send a sign-in link rather than a password: they choose their own
